Role Description:
FilmNation Entertainment is looking for a dedicated and hardworking Publicity Director to join the team in our New York office.
The role will report to the President, Marketing & Distribution and will manage the Manager, Publicity. The Director will also collaborate with internal departments including production, sales, delivery, legal and finance.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee all corporate communications for the company and its various divisions with the President, Marketing & Distribution.
- Oversee and manage film festival planning including: budget creation, managing agency, liaising with talent reps, ticketing, event management, securing sponsorships, and preparing for festival programming team meetings.
- Manage international film publicity campaigns and align with domestic distribution partners.
- Collaborate with Manager, Publicity on publicity material creation during production including unit photography, EPK, etc.
- Proof and edit key publicity assets such as production notes, EPKs, generic interviews to ensure content matches strategic positioning.
- Oversee publicity updates to filmmakers, international distributors and other partners as needed.
- Hire and manage PR agencies to coordinate talent tours, set visits and press junkets.
- Support international efforts on awards campaigns.
- Write and edit press releases, statements, talking points, interview briefings and speeches as needed.
- Oversee corporate publicity documents.
- Forward plan to ensure publicity deliverables are prepared in timely fashion.
- Domestic and international travel required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 4+ years of working in a film publicity environment (international publicity experience a plus).
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work with executives, talent and talent reps at all levels
- Exceptional writing, editing and oral communication skills
- Organized, self-motivated, creative thinker, detailed oriented and passion for film and knowledge of international marketplace
- Experience managing a direct report
This is an in-office position Monday-Thursday, Fridays are remote. This position's anticipated annual base salary is $90,000-100,000. This does not include any other compensation components or benefits for which an individual may be eligible. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and from which they will be performing the job.
