FilmNation Names Robin Schwartz President Of Television
November 28, 2023FilmNation Entertainment has appointed Robin Schwartz as the President of Television. Schwartz, a seasoned television producer, will be stationed in Los Angeles and will directly report to FilmNation CEO Glen Basner.
In her new role, Schwartz will be responsible for overseeing all facets of development and production for FilmNation's expanding television portfolio. She will play a pivotal role in steering the division's direction as the studio intensifies its efforts in the TV industry.
Currently, FilmNation is in the production phase of "Small Town, Big Story" in Ireland, a project created by Chris O’Dowd and featuring Paddy Considine and Christina Hendricks. The distribution for this series in the UK will be handled by SKY. Notably, FilmNation's inaugural venture into television, "I Know This Much Is True" for HBO, earned Mark Ruffalo an Emmy Award for his outstanding lead role.
Prior to joining FilmNation, Schwartz had a producing deal with Tomorrow Studios through her Working Bird banner. Her previous roles include leading the television divisions of Big Beach, Regency, and OWN: the Oprah Winfrey Network. Schwartz initiated her career at NBC, where she played a pivotal role in building the network's Must See TV slate.
