I Play Rocky Set for Zurich Film Festival Gala Following Toronto Premiere

I Play Rocky will be among the major titles featured in the gala program at this year's Zurich Film Festival, further positioning the film as a key stop on the fall festival and awards-season circuit.

Directed by Peter Farrelly, I Play Rocky stars Anthony Ippolito as a young Sylvester Stallone and chronicles the story behind the making of Rocky. The film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before heading to Zurich.

The Zurich Film Festival unveiled its 2026 gala lineup as a selection of "auteur cinema for a broader audience," according to festival director Christian Jungen. The program brings together several of the season's most anticipated films, including Beth de Araújo's Josephine starring Channing Tatum and Gemma Chan, Lee Chang-dong's Possible Love, and the sci-fi fantasy romantic comedy Wicker, starring Alexander Skarsgård, Olivia Colman, and Elizabeth Debicki.

Zurich's 2026 program will also feature three world premieres, including Andreas Dresen's Love, After All, Doris Dörrie's How Can I Help?, and Simon Wallon's documentary The Hammer. Additional gala selections include Mauro Mueller's 111 – Echoes from Halifax, Casey Affleck's Company, Nanni Moretti's It Will Happen Tonight, and Burgundy from The Truffle Hunters directors Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw.

The 22nd edition of the Zurich Film Festival runs from September 24 through October 4.
