Neon Lands U.S. Deal For ‘Babes’, Pamela Adlon’s Directing Debut That Stars Ilana Glazer, Michelle Buteau & Hasan Minhaj

Neon has secured the U.S. distribution rights for "Babes," a comedy film that had a private screening outside the official Toronto Film Festival roster. Following this private screening, five different distributors expressed interest in the film, ultimately with Tom Quinn's Neon emerging as the winner of the distribution rights. The movie marks the feature directorial debut of Pamela Adlon, an Emmy-winning talent known for her work on the series "Better Things." The screenplay for "Babes" was crafted by Ilana Glazer and Josh Rabinowitz, and the film features a stellar cast including Glazer herself, along with Michelle Buteau, Hasan Minhaj, and John Carroll Lynch.

In this witty comedy, Emmy-winning actress Ilana Glazer portrays Eden, a single woman who finds herself unexpectedly pregnant after a one-night stand. She turns to her married best friend and mother of two, played by Michelle Buteau, for guidance throughout her pregnancy journey and beyond.

The U.S. distribution deal was orchestrated by FilmNation Entertainment, Range Media Partners, and CAA Media Finance, while international sales are being handled by FilmNation. "Babes" received its financial backing from Range Media Partners and FilmNation, with a producing team that includes Susie Fox, Ilana Glazer, Josh Rabinowitz, Ashley Fox, and Breean Pojunas.
