Red Rocket Selected for Competition at the 74th Cannes Film Festival
June 03, 2021The Cannes International Film Festival unveiled the films that will compete in its 74th edition, set to run July 6-July 17. Among those titles is FilmNation’s own Red Rocket, directed by Sean Baker.
Pierre Lescure, president of the Festival de Cannes, and Thierry Frémaux, general delegate, announced the Cannes’ 2021 lineup on Thursday from the UGC Normandie theater in Paris. Read the full excerpt from the Hollywood Reporter here.
Red Rocket is written and directed by Sean Baker and produced by Sean Baker, Alex Coco, Samantha Quan, Alex Saks, Shih-Ching Tsou. The film was picked up by A24 earlier this year.
Logline: Mikey Saber (Simon Rex) is a retired porn star who returns to his small Texas hometown, not that anyone really wants him back.
