FilmNation Hires Former Amazon, Sony & Fox Vet Laine Kline To Key Role
May 14, 2025FilmNation Entertainment has appointed former Amazon, Sony, and Fox executive Laine Kline as its General Counsel and Head of Business and Legal Affairs.
In his new role, Kline will oversee all business and legal matters across FilmNation’s film, television, podcast, and theatre divisions, as well as the company’s genre label, Infrared. He succeeds Alison Cohen, FilmNation’s 15-year General Counsel, who recently left to join Neon.
Kline most recently served as Head of Production for Amazon MGM International Originals, where he managed local-language scripted and unscripted series and films across 22 countries. Prior to Amazon, he was EVP, Head of International Production at Sony Pictures International Productions, SVP of Business Affairs at Fox International, and EVP of Business and Legal Affairs at TWC.
Recent FilmNation productions include Sean Baker’s award-winning Anora, starring Mikey Madison, which won five Oscars including Best Picture and Best Actress; Edward Berger’s Oscar-winning Conclave, starring Ralph Fiennes; and Pablo Larraín’s Oscar-nominated Maria, starring Angelina Jolie. The company is attending Cannes this week with a slate of pre-sales titles, including Bunker, starring Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz.
