Bleecker Street has announced the extension of the theatrical run for "Waitress: The Musical" due to its outstanding performance and sold-out shows across the nation during the holiday season. Originally planned for a one-week run on 1,214 screens in the U.S. and Canada, the film, featuring Sarah Bareilles, grossed an impressive $3.5 million from Thursday to Sunday. Securing the eighth spot at the North American box office with a weekend total of $3.2 million, it stood out as one of the few films in the top ten to experience an increase in ticket sales from Saturday to Sunday.

In response to the film's success, Bleecker Street's President of Distribution, Kyle Davies, expressed excitement about the positive word-of-mouth surrounding "Waitress: The Musical" and looks forward to sustaining the momentum during the extended run on over 800 screens.
